Alaskan® Liquid Ice Preventer: How It Works and How to Use It

When winter throws snow, ice and sleet at you, choose the quickest, most effective and most versatile option there is: our Liquid Ice Melter.

The efficiency of the liquid calcium chloride in the product relies on the combination of a low freezing point and higher concentration than in other ice melters.

How to use Alaskan Liquid Ice Melter?

Using Alaskan® Liquid Ice Melter could not be easier. Simply unscrew the cap and apply the product directly to sidewalks, steps, driveways and other traffic areas, just like you would do with a watering can.

This product is gentle on asphalt, concrete and vegetation when used as directed.

However, make sure to avoid excessive applications around vegetation or in areas where run-off flows onto grass or near trees, shrubs or gardens.

Before a snowfall

It can be applied up to 48 hours before a snowfall or freezing rain event. However, applying the product one or two hours before will give optimal results.

As a reference, it is recommended to apply about 4 litres per 800 ft2. If you’re the preventive type, you can also apply our Liquid Ice Melter after the snow/ice was removed to keep new ice from forming.

After a snowfall

In a hurry before leaving home in the morning? You can also use Alaskan® Liquid Ice Melter to quickly melt thin layers of ice or snow at temperatures as low as -35 °C.
